1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how extrefy collects, uses, and safeguards your personal data.
Capitalized terms used but not defined herein shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the extrefy User Agreement.
2. Data We Collect
2.1. “Profile Information” may include, but not limited to name, email id, photo, company details, role, work experience, education and global expansion interests, funding details , Revenue provided by you in a form during registration on the Platform or profile updates.
2.2. “Data” shall have the meaning prescribed under applicable data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other relevant legislation and may include Profile Information, Usage Data, Communications, Optional Data, cookies, and Log Data.
2.3. “Usage Data” may include, but not limited to login info and status, profile views, event attendance, connection requests, content shared within the community, synergy mapping activities and interactions on the Platform.
2.4. “Communications” may include messages, posts, or feedback shared with extrefy in case of a support or grievance request via the respective communication channels, this does not include communication among Users unless it is required by law to process it.
2.5. “Optional Data” may include surveys, or preferences if the User chooses to provide them.
2.6. “Cookies”: We use cookies to improve your experience on the extrefy Platform.
2.7. “Log Data” includes but is not limited to IP address, location, browser type/settings, date/time of requests, and interaction details.
2.8. “Device Information” Includes but is not limited to device name, operating system, device identifiers, and browser used.
3. How We Use Data
How we use your (“User”) data depends on the Services that you use, how you use such Services and the choices you make in your settings.
3.1. To provide, operate, improve and maintain the eXtrefy Platform and AI-powered features and offerings, including responding to your inquiries and facilitating professional networking among founders.
3.2. To personalize and improve User experience by developing and delivering features such as AI-generated information and insights, recommendations, discussion threads, and interaction tools tailored to founders’ needs.
3.3. We use details about your company, to help others find synergies with your company.
3.4. We use your Profile Information to help other Users find your profile.
3.5. To communicate with Users regarding account updates, Platform changes, relevant events, newsletters, and opportunities within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
3.6. To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security threats, and misuse of the Platform or AI powered Services, ensuring the safety and integrity of our founder community and systems.
3.7. To comply with Applicable Laws, legal obligations, and regulatory requests, and to protect the rights, privacy, safety, and property of Users, the Platform, or third parties.
4. Data Sharing
4.1. With other Users: For Synergy Mapping, Communication, and providing Services on the extrefy platform
4.2. Vendors and Service Providers: To deliver, support, and improve the extrefy Platform and AI-powered features, we may share Data with trusted third-party vendors and service providers. These include hosting providers, cloud infrastructure, APIs, AI and analytics tools, content delivery networks, safety monitoring services, email and notification platforms, payment processors, and other technical service partners. These parties are authorized to process Data solely for performing Services on behalf of extrefy under strict confidentiality and security obligations.
4.3. Affiliates: Data may be shared with extrefy’s Affiliates Such affiliates are obligated to safeguard and use Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
4.4. Government Authorities or Other Third Parties: extrefy may disclose Data-including information about your activity on the Platform to governmental or regulatory authorities, law enforcement, industry peers, or other third parties where required by law or when extrefy believes disclosure is necessary to (i) comply with legal requirements, (ii) protect rights or property, (iii) enforce Platform policies or law, (iv) prevent fraud or misuse, (v) ensure security and safety, or (vi) avoid legal liability.
4.5. Business Transfers: In the event of any merger, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets involving extrefy (hereinafter referred to as “Transaction”), relevant Data may be shared with potential or actual counterparties and advisors to facilitate due diligence and transition. Your Data may be transferred to any successor, assignee, or Affiliate involved in such a Transaction as part of the business assets.
In case of any breach of Data by a third party, D Globalist shall not be liable for any loss, damage or otherwise cost incurred by the User or its Representatives.
5. Security
5.1. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices, including technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature and risks of processing to ensure Content processed by us and shared with us over the extrefy Platform is reasonably protected from any data breaches.
5.2. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and are expected to not share them with any third party.
5.3. We investigate suspected Data breaches and notify affected individuals and competent authorities within the applicable legal timelines,
6. Your Rights
6.1. Users may request correction or deletion of their Data.
6.2. User may opt out of certain communications with extrefy.
6.3. Users have the right to withdraw their consent for the processing of their Data at any time, such consent can be withdrawn by a User by the Deactivation of their account. extrefy stops the relevant consent-based processing within a reasonable time, unless further processing is required or authorised by Applicable Laws. Withdrawal by the User does not make retrospectively processed data prior to such withdrawal unlawful.
6.4. When applicable under law, the User may request a summary of Data processed and processing activities, identities of Data Fiduciary and processors (if any) with who such data may have been shared, along with description of the shared Data, subject to statutory exceptions; correction, completion, updating and erasure, grievance redressal, and for any other circumstance for which such provision has been made Applicable Laws.
7. Data Retention
7.1. extrefy retains User information, including personal data and related records, only for as long as necessary and in accordance with Applicable Laws or any other law in force.
7.2. extrefy will retain relevant information and related records for a minimum period of 180 days in the following situations, including but not limited to:
7.2.1. When User content is removed, restricted, or access to it is disabled due to extrefy’s own review, receipt of a complaint or grievance, or any lawful notice.
7.2.2. When a User deletes or closes their account on the extrefy platform.
7.2.3. extrefy retains Data even after a User’s account is suspended, deactivated, or access is revoked by extrefy, until required actions are completed or further notice is given.
7.2.4. extrefy may retain Data when it is necessary to resolve disputes or complaints, maintain platform security, prevent, detect, or investigate fraud, misuse, or violations of extrefy’s terms, such as opting out or unsubscribing from communications.
7.2.5. eXtrefy shall inform the User forty-eight hours prior to the erasure of their Data before completion of the 180 days or one year, as per the Applicable laws, unless such User logs into their user account or otherwise initiates contact with D Globalist or extrefy for reactivation of their account or exercises their rights in relation to the processing of such Data.
7.3. extrefy will retain relevant information and records for a minimum period of one year as may be required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7.4. The above retention period may be extended if required to comply with any applicable law, rule, or regulation, court orders or directions, lawful requests or directions from government or regulatory authorities, or any obligation notified by the Government or required under law.
8. International Data Transfers
As a global Platform, your Data may be transferred across borders, but always under adequate safeguards.
9. Updates to Terms of Use
9.1. extrefy reserves the right to modify or update the Terms of Use as is necessary to reflect changes in its Service and policies. Except where otherwise required by law, User will be provided with prior notice of any material changes to the said terms and be given a reasonable opportunity to review such changes before they become effective, via a notification on the Platform or an email.
9.2. User’s continued access to the extrefy Platform or use of Services after the effective date of the updated legal terms, constitutes User’s acceptance of the Terms of Use.
9.3. If a User does not agree to any revised terms or wish to terminate the Agreement, they may do so by Deactivation of their account and discontinuing all use of the Services. This shall not result in any liability on extrefy for consented use of Data before such withdrawal of consent by the User.
